Certified Financial Planner
Margie is an independent consultant working with DDC. She shifted to personal financial planning after a decade in the high-tech industry in the US where she focused on international marketing and strategic planning. In 2010 she completed courses and exams at the University of Victoria to qualify as a Certified Financial Planner
. She holds a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from UBC.
Margie is a Director of the Mountain Equipment Cooperative and volunteer Director of CISV Canada. She has also held directorships on a variety of other boards including Kaleidoscope Theatre, the Women’s Sexual Assault Centre, and Canadian Parents for French.
Margie works with a range of clients to identify financial planning and retirement solutions as well as investment allocation and asset management plans. She does not sell product or manage money – i.e. does not take any commissions. She works strictly on a fee-for-service basis, providing un-biased advice.
Margie is experienced, professional and realistic – yet gentle and supportive. Her goal is to educate and encourage clients, young and old, to make sound, informed financial decisions.
In her spare time (hah!) she likes to garden, ski, travel, and sing with her children and extended “family” in Oak Bay’s Harling Point. Oh... and Margie loves fine dark chocolate!
